Years ago I gave up silkscreening because I didn’t like the chemistry of it. I am doing it again because I have found there are some environmentally friendly materials to work with. I use simple water based inks, and for the most part paper mats or stencils. I also feel free to experiment and learn as I print. In recent years I have learned how to make some fairly large prints, and to print one color over another with intriguing results--a little less flatness in the shapes, even some texture. I make my own screens, cut my own mats, mix my own paints, pull my own prints, etc. The process is primitive, some would say. I hope the child in me never dies.
